About Us

Our Story

Before Ironwood Livestock was formally established, it began as the lifelong passion of Orange County native Max Horan. Raised in agricultural youth programs such as 4-H and the National FFA Organization, Max developed a deep respect for animal husbandry, discipline, and the show ring. He later earned his degree in Agricultural Science while steadily developing a competitive collection of show animals, most notably his herd of dairy goats.
Beyond exhibition, a core belief of Ironwood is that livestock should serve a meaningful purpose. From crafting small-batch goat milk soap to incorporating rabbits and chicks into memorable family portrait experiences, Max began shaping Ironwood Livestock into a multifaceted agricultural venture rooted in both tradition and creativity.
In March 2026, Ironwood Livestock was officially formed in partnership with Nelson Boyack. Together, they are committed to raising quality livestock, producing thoughtfully crafted farm goods, and offering unique agricultural services to Orange County and surrounding communities. Ironwood Livestock proudly blends heritage, innovation, and hands-on dedication in everything it does.
